Prevent and Reverse Aging with Microneedling

Not just a local anti-aging skincare buzzword trend. MICRONEEDLING, a popular medical procedure, stimulates the body’s natural healing response.

Minimally invasive anti-aging treatment. Reduces fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, rough skin tone and texture. Microneedle treatments have been shown to increase skin thickness and raise collagen and elastin levels, thus reversing some of the effects of aging.

Our device? We use an FDA-cleared motorized microneedling pen that is classified as a medical device. Safe for all skin types, including darker skin that is more susceptible to hyperpigmentation. This state-of-the-art tool contains fine needles that work to eliminate scarring, marks and lesions on the face and body. Outpatient procedure, usually completed in multiple sessions.

Ouch-Scale Rating? Patient’s average pain rating – only 1.08 out of 10. For most, that’s probably less painful than having your eyebrows waxed.

The procedure penetrates micro areas of the skin, creating controlled wounds. Microneedling does exactly what it sounds like, tiny needles enter the outer layer of your skin, causing two main effects: microscopic injuries and temporary tunnels. These tiny injuries help to boost the amount of collagen and elastin. The skin responds by filling the wounds with collagen and elastin, which are natural proteins that can effectively strengthen and reduce the appearance of scarring.

The rejuvenation technique breaks up old scar tissue so that new tissue can generate. The needles are automated and we can adjust their puncture depth to your precise needs, creating a more personalized treatment that ensures your skin looks as natural as possible.

At Skin Care By Alyce we offer microneedling in Wyomissing and Reading, PA communities as a way to improve the texture of the skin and reduce visible scars.

Did you know:

Multiple minimally invasive sessions of skin microneedling are an effective treatment for post-acne atrophic scars as it stimulates the repair processes with the advantage of being a relatively risk-free, in-office procedure with minimal patient recovery time.

Microneedling devices and dermarollers (rollers, motorized pens, needle stampers) for sale on Ebay and Amazon? Think twice. The two biggest problems with using these devices at home are:

1. Risk for infection – medical offices are set up for sterile medical procedures, your home is not.

2. Inconsistent results – non-medical grade rollers and needling pens can have needles that penetrate too deep or too shallow, leading to poor results or ineffective treatments. Spa & home needles can hurt your skin and cause scarring.

Microneedling must be done with a device that hits your skin surface at a 90 degree (perpendicular) angle, in order to minimize scraping, scratching, or other trauma that could cause scarring. Inexpensive spa devices often have poor quality needles that are slightly angled or bent and can thus hurt your skin. Similarly, circular devices like dermal rollers don’t hit the skin at a straight 90 degree angle and can be injurious for this reason as well.

Unlike other skin rejuvenation and repair methods, the microneedling system actually uses your body’s own growth factors to smooth the skin. Because your body is producing it’s own collagen and elastin, no harsh chemicals are present, resulting in fewer side-effects.

Many clients prefer microneedling because of its minimal downtime. Although some redness may occur immediately after the procedure, any irritation should subside by the following day. Most commonly used on the face, neck and decolatage with reassuring results.
