Whether your skin could use a boost, or your hair is thinning, PRP can help. PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is a concentrated serum of proteins and growth factors from within your body. Both medical and cosmetic applications of PRP have shown to stimulate growth and renewal.
If your skin is rough, blemished, or showing signs of age, PRP application will help restore even skin tone and add youthful, attractive volume! If you are losing hair, PRP therapy will restore volume and healthy hair growth in areas where hair is thinning or balding.

What is PRP?
PRP therapy harnesses your body’s natural healing properties to restore healthy function to your skin or hair. PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is a concentration of the essential growth factors found in our own blood. PRP is protein-rich and full of restorative properties. Just like how the components of our blood heal cuts and other damage for us, the restorative powers of PRP will repair aged, scarred, or worn tissue.
The value of PRP extends far beyond cosmetic application: PRP therapy has helped countless athletes and patients recover from their injuries. However, here at Skin Care by Alyce, we use it for cosmetic purposes to restore healthier skin and hair growth.
Before patients receive PRP Therapy, they will first give a blood sample. The sample will be processed through a centrifuge to remove the red blood cells and create the PRP serum. The process takes about ten minutes. Your plasma is then ready for application!
Patients who are interested in skin rejuvenation can
dramatically improve their outcomes by receiving PRP application
at the conclusion of a microneedling treatment.
Patients who want to reverse their hair thinning can receive PRP injections in the scalp to jumpstart the growth of their hair.
PRP for Skin Rejuvenation
PRP application with microneedling goes by many names, including the plasma facial and blood facial, or just simply facial rejuvenation with PRP.
The healing properties of PRP make it an ideal addition to any microneedling treatment. PRP accelerates the rate and quality of healing to improve treatment outcomes. The growth factors in the PRP will interact with the skin on a cellular level. Scars, discolorations, and blemishes will vanish more quickly as the skin renews itself and clearer, healthier skin works to the surface.
PRP will not only improve skin healing, but it will also boost collagen and elastin production and strengthen the structure of the skin cells themselves. Microneedling as its own treatment stimulates collagen production: microneedling combined with PRP has shown to dramatically increase this collagen and elastin production for a youthful, luminous look!
Patients will see major improvements in the tone and structure of their skin after a single treatment of microneedling with PRP. To see your smoothest, clearest skin yet, Alyce recommends three to six microneedling treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart. The PRP can also be injected into the skin to volumize, along with filler and microneedling. PRP is also excellent to restore skin texture and volumization into the backs of the hands.

PRP for Hair Restoration
PRP therapy is an increasingly popular hair loss solution because it WORKS.
Thanks to its impressive ability to restore healthy function almost anywhere in the body, PRP application is an excellent solution to balding or thinning hair. Hair thinning frequently is caused by stalls in the hair growth cycle. When applied to the hair follicles, PRP will activate the anagen phase, or growth phase, of the hair. The hair follicles themselves will become stronger and thicker.
PRP application for hair growth will be administered in three treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart. Subsequent PRP treatments can be received within four to six months to maintain healthy hair growth.

Anyone can benefit from PRP application! Thanks to the fact that the PRP serum is created with your own blood, the treatment is safe for anyone to receive.
If you have skin that is looking dull, aged, or damaged, microneedling with PRP application will restore a healthy, youthful appearance. Unlike skin restoration with lasers, PRP application is a safe, effective rejuvenation option for patients of all skin colors. No matter the needs of your skin, PRP therapy will improve collagen production and heal the damage in your skin!
Candidates who are experiencing active acne or cold sores will need to wait until these conditions heal themselves before receiving microneedling with PRP. Microneedling can exacerbate these conditions.
Men and women who are experiencing hair thinning or hair loss can enjoy thick, healthy hair once more, thanks to PRP! If you experience hair loss between growth cycles, this can indicate that you will respond particularly well to PRP application for hair growth.
Anyone who is beginning to see the signs of aging on their body can restore their youthful feel and function, thanks to PRP application at Skin Care by Alyce!

PRP Application: What to Expect
When you arrive at Skin Care by Alyce for your PRP therapy, a sample of your blood will be taken. Your blood will be processed through a centrifuge to separate out red blood cells and create a concentration of your platelet-rich plasma.
PRP with Microneedling
In order to guarantee your PRP will be absorbed fully and deeply, we will first perform microneedling on your desired treatment areas. A topical numbing cream will be applied at the beginning of your session. After 30 minutes, your skin will be comfortably numb. Some patients say they feel discomfort when SkinPen is passed over their forehead, but that the sensation is very tolerable.
At Skin Care by Alyce, we perform microneedling with SkinPen, a motorized, easy-to-handle pen that houses 14 medical-grade needles. The needles will penetrate the skin at a 90-degree angle to create deep, clean micro-channels in the skin. The micro-channels will both signal for the topical skin to heal and enable the deeper, newer skin to rise to the surface more quickly.
Once the SkinPen has been applied to your skin, you will receive a topical application of your PRP serum. The micro-channels in the skin make it easy for your skin to drink in the protein-rich PRP.
Because the microneedling clears pathways to the deeper levels of the dermis, the PRP will interact with your deep skin cells to strengthen the cell structure and jumpstart your collagen production.
PRP application will increase the rate that your skin heals following your microneedling. The new, collagen-rich skin will work its way to the surface more quickly. Patients who combine PRP therapy with microneedling will enjoy fuller, clearer, glowing skin that will continue to improve over the weeks following treatment.
PRP for Hair Growth
The details of your PRP treatment will vary based on the needs of your unique case.
Once your blood has been processed, your platelet-rich-plasma will be injected in your scalp at one-inch intervals. Patients have the option of receiving a topical anesthetic to keep them comfortable while they receive their PRP. The PRP will work into the hair follicles and stimulate the Anagen, or growth phase of the hair.
PRP for hair growth will be administered in three treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart. Patients may see new hair growth as early as two weeks after their first round of PRP therapy. Other patients may not see new growth until after their second round of PRP therapy. Within a few months, hair will be noticeably fuller!
PRP application reduces the recovery time normally required following microneedling. Your skin may feel flushed or dry following your treatment, but this is normal and will abate within a day or two of treatment. You will notice that your skin tone and volume are improved within a few days of your PRP therapy. Over the weeks following your microneedling, you will see your skin become clearer, smoother, and more volumized! You will see a major reduction in your scars, wrinkles, and discolorations. You will enjoy fuller, more youthful-looking skin, thanks to microneedling with PRP.
Best results will be seen if patients receive their next microneedling with PRP application within four to six weeks.
No recovery is required following PRP therapy for hair growth. Your hair will become thicker, fuller, and healthier most noticeably after your second treatment. Your hair will continue to grow in over the weeks following your treatment. You will be able to enjoy noticeably thicker hair within three to six months of your PRP therapy.
Best results will be accomplished with three treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart.
What are the benefits of PRP?
PRP application can improve healing rates, as well as improve the overall health of the treated tissue. PRP has helped athletes recover from their injuries for years, so it is not a new phenomenon.
PRP has shown to stimulate collagen production, resulting in an increase of robust, vibrant volume in the skin. The growth factors in PRP also have the ability to jumpstart hair growth and improve the health of the hair follicles themselves.
Because platelet-rich plasma is a product of your own blood, there is no chance of allergic reaction with PRP therapy.
How long will it take for my PRP therapy to work?
PRP therapy will begin working right away to improve the health and function of the cells in the treatment area. The effects of PRP therapy will be evident within a few days of microneedling with PRP, as the PRP will improve healing rates from the procedure. Final outcomes from PRP application for skin rejuvenation will be evident over the weeks following the treatment.
It can be two to three months before improvements from PRP therapy for hair growth are noticeable.
How much will my PRP treatment cost?
The price of PRP therapy varies based on the details of your overall treatment plan. The size of the area you would like treated, the type of procedure, and the number of treatments you receive will impact the price of your PRP treatment. Once you complete your private consultation for PRP therapy, you will receive a cost estimate that reflects the details of your unique treatment plan.
