ClearLift Laser Treatment Wyomissing

ClearLift is a state-of-the-art facial rejuvenation treatment that reduces the appearance of signs of aging in the face, neck, and chest. It does so with the use of non-ablative lasers, and is considered to be an effective non-surgical alternative to a facelift. While ablative anti-aging techniques remove the top layer of skin, non-ablative lasers do not break the surface. Instead, they emit powerful bursts of light energy that focus heat down into the deeper skin layers to stimulate your body’s production of skin-strengthening collagen.

Traditional resurfacing treatment can be harsh, particularly for people with sensitive skin. Similarly, people with darker skin often face limitations in the anti-aging treatments they can choose because of the risk of discoloration and scarring. Non-ablative lasers have been shown in studies to provide qualitative improvements in facial rhytids (wrinkles) and scars. (1)

About Skin Aging

Our skin is an extraordinary organ. It’s a complex structure that serves as a barrier between our bodies and the outside environment. It endures the elements, protects us from harmful pathogens, and is a key component of our beauty. Despite its strong framework, major changes in skin functionality occur during the aging process. But what are some of the underlying reasons why fine lines and wrinkles appear?

Why Do We Get Lines and Wrinkles?

As a vital part of the skin’s scaffolding, collagen is an essential reinforcing and strengthening protein. It is one of the main components that contributes to skin smoothness and vitality. Unfortunately, as we get older, our body’s production of collagen slows. This happens alongside a decrease in another important protein found in abundance in healthy skin; elastin. Over time, our skin gradually loses elasticity which can lead to sagging. This is due to a slow down in the body’s production of elastin.

In older adults, the cell renewal cycle slows down significantly. As a result, wounds are slower to heal and the outermost layer of skin (the epidermis) does not replenish itself as quickly. This can result in more noticeable wrinkles, lines, and other imperfections. The combination of laser techniques in a ClearLift procedure stimulates new collagen formation, which can help plump and lift the skin, restoring your natural, youthful aesthetic.

Personal Consultation

Nurse Alyce can tailor a wide range of services to meet the needs of her patients. She holds the firm belief that everyone should feel good in their own skin. At a personal consultation with her, you can talk about your aesthetic goals and be frank about the aspects of your skin that are causing you problems. She will take some brief details about your general health, then examine your skin’s texture, dynamic wrinkles and lines, elasticity, and pigmentation. Once this examination is complete, if you are a suitable candidate for ClearLift treatment, she will schedule your treatment date.

Before your ClearLift treatment, please follow these guidelines:

  • Limit sun exposure at least six weeks before your treatment. UV light damages the skin and may slow your recovery.
  • Stop taking Retin-A, retinol, and other oral and topical skin clearing treatments 1 week before your Clear Lift treatment, as these can irritate the skin and hamper recovery.
  • If you are currently on a course of antibiotics, finish the course before treatment. Some antibiotics can make the skin more sensitive to UV light.
  • If you are prone to cold sores (herpes simplex virus/HSV), take preventive antivirals the day before your ClearLift treatment and in the week afterwards to mitigate the risk of a breakout during your recovery.

The ClearLift Procedure

ClearLift Laser Treatment Wyomissing

ClearLift is such a comfortable treatment to experience, there is no numbing or anesthesia required! Nurse Alyce will use two medical-grade lasers to target the deeper layers of the treated area. These lasers penetrate deep into the skin, emitting powerful bursts of light energy up to 3mm deep. The energy emitted by the device heats the targeted tissues. This heating creates a ‘controlled wound’ that leaves the outermost layer of the skin unaffected. Many patients say the feeling is very tolerable; like a painless popping of intense, focused energy on the skin. Starting immediately after your treatment, your body will activate its healing process. It will increase collagen production and break down excess pigmentation. Over time, these processes will contribute to firmer, more youthful-looking skin. (3) Depending on the number of areas you wish to address, a ClearLift treatment can take as little as 30 minutes to complete.

Results of ClearLift Treatment

Although many patients see dramatic results after just one treatment, the most striking results can be seen after 3-6 consecutive treatments. These can be scheduled before or after your initial treatment, and should be spaced 7-14 days apart. Some patients love their results so much, they come back after their initial sequence of procedures, around once every 3-6 months.

Corresponding & Complementary Procedures

A dermaplaning procedure can smooth and exfoliate the skin’s surface. A fine blade is used to gently remove fine facial hair and imperfections. After this, topical moisturizers and serums are applied to the face to replenish moisture and brighten your complexion. This is a fast, easy way to complement a Clear Lift treatment and create an even better result, with smoother texture.

Radiofrequency Microneedling

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling promotes tissue tightening and firmer, smoother skin. Waves of energy are directed deep into the targeted area while tiny needles penetrate the skin to create a controlled injury. This activates the skin’s natural healing response, increasing collagen production and deep dermal rejuvenation. This treatment is beneficial for patients who want to address acne scarring, brown spots, wrinkles, large pores, dull skin, and firming. (4)

PDO Lifting & Smooth Threads

Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are body-compatible sutures that can be used to lift sagging facial skin. A PDO lift with Smooth Threads can restore a more youthful facial contour, renew skin vitality, and help prevent new wrinkles from appearing. What’s more, the procedure can be specially tailored to fit the needs of the individual. It is considered by nurses, aestheticians, and patients alike to be an effective minimally-invasive alternative to a facelift.

Does a ClearLift laser treatment hurt?

No! ClearLift laser technology is so well-tolerated by patients that no numbing or anesthesia is required. It’s non-ablative, which means there are no skin injuries, no incisions, and no breaking of the surface of the skin. Short bursts of energy target the treated area and do not feel uncomfortable. This gentler procedure may be a good treatment option for patients who do not wish to undergo surgical or non-surgical skin rejuvenation procedures that can cause discomfort, and that have longer recovery periods.

How long do the results of a ClearLift procedure last?

As every person’s skin responds to treatment differently, and some patients may undergo more than one ClearLift treatment, the longevity of results may vary. Many patients choose to receive their treatment in well-spaced intervals of 7-14 days, with each subsequent treatment improving on the results of the last. In some cases, results can last for up to 24 months.
